British actor and filmmaker Idris Elba has been honoured as a son of Ga land under King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II during a grand ceremony at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra.
His return to Ghana was marked by vibrant cultural celebrations, recognising his contributions to the African diaspora and Ghana’s creative industry.
Elba reaffirmed his commitment to revitalising African cinema, announcing plans for a world-class film studio on 22 acres of land near Osu Castle.
The initiative aims to train young Ghanaian creatives and position the country as a major film hub.
