Actor Koo Fori’s bail delayed as judge misses court

Ghanaian comic actor Koo Fori, born Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, will stay in police custody. His hopes for bail were dashed because the judge was absent. The judge was reportedly attending a judicial training program.

Koo Fori is known for his roles in Ghanaian comedy series. He was arrested by the Accra Central Police Command. He allegedly defrauded a US-based Ghanaian doctor of $50,000, about GH¢309,000.

Police investigations show that the victim transferred money to Koo Fori. This was meant to buy a full plot of land at Spintex for a building project. However, Koo Fori only used GH¢170,000 to buy half a plot and did not account for the rest.

After several failed attempts to retrieve his money, the doctor reported the case to police. Authorities noted that Koo Fori ignored a court summons from April 17, 2025. A bench warrant was then issued for his arrest.

He has been apprehended and remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
