On April 5, 2025, Ghana’s National Theatre hosted the funeral rites of late actor Mawuli Semevo, with notable figures attending to pay their respects.
Among the attendees were Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Minister of Tourism Dzifa Gomashie, and playwright George Quaye.
Guests wore black to show solidarity with Semevo's grieving family.
The funeral was a poignant occasion, with conversations and tributes honoring the late actor’s contributions to both film and theatre, including his roles in A Stab in the Dark and Harvest at 17.
Semevo passed away on February 20, 2025, after suffering burns in a fire accident at Ridge Hospital.
