Afua Asantewaa kickstarts second Guinness World Record singing marathon attempt in Kumasi

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has begun her second attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.

The attempt started on December 21, 2024, at Heroes' Park, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, and is being streamed live.

Scheduled to run until December 25, she will sing exclusively Ghanaian songs, showcasing her pride as a Ghanaian and African.

This attempt follows her initial try in December 2023, which fell short of breaking India’s Sunil Waghmare’s 105-hour record.

The previous disqualification was announced via Guinness World Records' social media. Determined to succeed, Asantewaa sees this as an extraordinary step for her and her country.
