Ajuma, whose real name is Iddrisu Baba Aliu, grew up in Boadua-Akwatia. He describes his sound as Afrosounds. This style blends Afrobeats' rhythms, Highlife's melodies, and lyrical storytelling.

His musical influences include Black Sherif, Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena, and Burna Boy.
