Veteran actress Akofa Edjeani has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize appointing qualified individuals to leadership roles in the creative arts sector.
Speaking to Lexis Bill on Joy FM’s *Drive Time*, Akofa emphasized the need for a serious discussion to rebuild the sector effectively.
She highlighted the sector's socio-economic potential, calling for leaders who understand its impact on employment, wellness, and cultural identity.
"Film and theatre are crucial to a nation's growth; without culture, we are nothing," she stressed.
Akofa urged the government to establish a strong foundation for the creative arts to thrive, noting past failures due to weak structures.
As Mahama prepares to name officials for tourism, arts, and culture, expectations are high for strategic and capable appointments.
