Akuapem Poloo explains why she prefers dating to marriage; ‘I’ve never been single in my life’

Actress Haniya Rosemond Alade Brown, known as Hajia Fati, has shared some news. Her mother has converted to Islam, just like she did three years ago. Now, her mother is called Aishatu, following Islamic tradition.

During an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, Ms. Brown revealed she recently had a daughter. However, she chose not to disclose the baby’s name. She also mentioned that she is expecting another child soon.

Poloo stated that she plans to marry "very soon." However, this will only happen when "my husband arrives." She explained that there is someone special in her life and plans are in motion for their future together.

After having a child with her partner, he needs to work for their wedding expenses. Poloo expressed her hope to build a family with him but acknowledged that marriage might not happen.

She kept her pregnancy private due to her “change in mindset.” The man she is with prefers to avoid public attention. “I’m under control,” she said lightheartedly.

The award-winning actress met her partner at an event. She noted that she has never been single for long. “Whenever I break up, I quickly find someone else,” she added.

Reflecting on past relationships, Poloo mentioned being with about seven men. Her longest relationship lasted eight years. She told Romeo that “dating is sweeter than marriage.”

While acknowledging marriage's value, she prefers dating over the institution itself. “Marriage brings many unpleasant things,” she remarked.

Poloo believes dating can be competitive while marriage often leads to complacency. She pointed out the challenges female divorcees face when trying to remarry.

“It’s harder for women to divorce abusive husbands,” she explained. Men often have an easier time remarrying due to their economic advantages compared to women.
