Renowned Ghanaian singer and songwriter Akwaboah has called for a ban on explicit songs in mainstream media.
Speaking with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, in an interview monitored by Virgin Blogger, he expressed concern over the increasing exposure of inappropriate lyrics to the public, especially children.
According to Akwaboah, music plays a significant role in shaping society, and promoting explicit content on radio and television negatively influences the younger generation.
He urged media regulators to take strict action to ensure that only morally uplifting and culturally appropriate songs are aired.
His comments have sparked discussions among music lovers, with some supporting his stance while others argue for artistic freedom.
Akwaboah remains firm in his belief that responsible music promotion is essential for national development.
