Lawyers for the Ghanaian a cappella group Alabaster Box have contacted rapper Medikal. His real name is Samuel Adu Frimpong. They claim he used part of their song without permission.

The letter, seen by myjoyonline.com, states that Medikal sampled their song "Akwaaba." This was done in his latest track titled "Welcome to Africa."

According to the letter, the first 10 seconds of "Welcome to Africa" reproduces their song. The title and verses suggest that Medikal's work is derived from "Akwaaba."

Alabaster Box also claims that Medikal's aggressive promotion on streaming platforms worsens the violation.

The lawyers demand that "Welcome to Africa" be removed from all platforms immediately. They also want him to stop any marketing or performances related to the track.

Additionally, they request the termination of contracts linked to its production and distribution.

Alabaster Box seeks an account of revenue generated from the song. They want details about all individuals or companies involved in its promotion.

They warn that failure to meet these demands will lead to legal action against Medikal.

As of now, Medikal has not responded to these allegations.
