George Britton is a respected talent manager in Ghana. He founded Revolve Plus and has shared insights on artist management in Africa.
In an interview on Penpensiwa, a show on AsaasePa 107.3, he discussed the challenges of managing artists. Host Obomengniibaa Nana Akua led the conversation.
Britton emphasized that managers often sacrifice their own dreams for artists. He stated, “If I am a manager, I have to pause my own dreams.” This highlights the selflessness needed to guide musicians effectively.
He pointed out that while talent is important, much happens behind the scenes. “Creating music is just 20%. The remaining 80% is promotion,” he explained. Many artists mistakenly believe good songs alone will succeed without promotion.
Britton also noted that growth must be mutual between artists and managers. Artists evolve and expect their managers to keep pace or lead. “Artistes want a manager who grows with them,” he said.
George Britton has built a strong reputation in Ghana’s entertainment industry. He is known for his influential role behind the scenes in music. Over the years, he has helped many notable Ghanaian artists gain recognition both locally and internationally.
