Ghanaian dermatologist Dr. Roseline Osazuwa has warned that excessive use of sponges while bathing can strip the skin of essential oils, leading to dryness.
Speaking on Joy Prime, she explained that sponges act as exfoliators and should not be used excessively.
She advised bathing twice daily—morning and evening—but cautioned against using a sponge more than once a day, especially for those who bathe multiple times due to sweating or exercise.
Dr. Osazuwa also debunked skincare myths, warning against using lemon on the face as it can damage delicate facial skin. She urged individuals with acne or eczema to seek professional care and emphasized the role of sleep and exercise in maintaining healthy skin.
