Bediatuo makes first public appearance at Akufo-Addo’s 81St birthday party

Nana Bediatuo Asante, the former Executive Secretary to President Nana Akufo-Addo, made his first public appearance since returning to Ghana after nearly seven months of medical treatment abroad.

He attended the 81st birthday celebration of the former President at his Nima residence on Sunday, where he was seen using a walking stick and seated for most of the event.

Bediatuo, known for his lively persona, appeared subdued and smiled occasionally. His wife, Sarah Mary Olufemi Adetola, was not present.

His discreet return to Ghana on March 8 was captured at Kotoka International Airport, where he arrived in a wheelchair. Bediatuo had stayed in the U.S. for medical treatment following his illness during an official trip with Akufo-Addo.

Speculation surrounds the circumstances of his return, but many hope for his recovery and return to political activities.
