Kumawood actor Big Akwes has cautioned President John Dramani Mahama against appointing Rex Omar to any position in the creative arts industry.
In a video circulating online, Big Akwes expressed concerns over Rex Omar’s capability to represent the interests of creatives effectively.
He called on the president to consider appointing Omar to a different role outside the creative arts space.
The actor revealed plans for a press conference on January 17 to emphasize their stance and ensure the president takes note of their concerns.
“We don’t want Rex Omar involved in the creative arts sector. The president can appoint him elsewhere, but not here,” Big Akwes insisted.
The call reflects growing tensions within the industry over leadership appointments under the new administration.
