Big Chef Junior S4: What earned the 12 young chefs a spot in the competition?

Big Chef Season 4 has officially started. Fans are excited about the young culinary talents who made it through auditions.

In an exclusive interview on Joy Prime, judges Chef Kofi Agyekum and Chef Rita Oko discussed the contestants' qualities. They shared insights into why each contestant earned their spot this season.

Bubune stood out with her passion and creativity. She impressed the judges with her Tom Brown dish and garnishing skills. “Her creativity and confidence shone through,” said Chef Rita. Chef Kofi praised her for defending her dish confidently. Notably, Bubune's brother was last year's champion.

Elaine faced challenges during her audition but left a strong impression. After struggling with burnt eyes and filling issues, she requested another try. Chef Kofi recognized her potential, saying she served her dish well despite setbacks.

Hilda, the oldest contestant, broke tradition by omitting proteins in her dish. Her organized plating and perfectly cooked vegetables caught Chef Rita’s eye. “Her vegetables were not overly soft, and her organization was top-notch,” she noted.

Nicolle showcased impressive ingredient knowledge and knife skills. “Her kitchen space was clean, and she clearly knew what she was doing,” remarked Chef Kofi.

Serwaa Bonsu is one of the youngest contestants but also unpredictable. Despite appearing timid, she finished her meal ahead of time—showing that appearances can be deceiving.

Jaden returned from last season with renewed passion for cooking. He promised to come back after his eviction last year—and he did! His younger sister Rena joins him this season, adding family dynamics to the competition.

Raziella surprised everyone with a bold twist on traditional cooking. Her confidence and understanding of ingredients impressed the judges greatly. “She shocked us—in a good way,” said Chef Rita.

Marvin may be slow but impressed with his perfect porridge texture and presentation. Monalisa stayed cautious during cooking to avoid mistakes or wasting time.

Rena is Jaden's younger sister, bringing excitement to their sibling rivalry in the kitchen. She is confident in both cooking and answering questions about meals.

Selinam (aka Sasha) from Sogakope is the only contestant from outside Accra. She took a unique approach by slicing bread using Fortune Butter instead of typical omelets or salads during auditions—a bold move that paid off.

Finally, Clifford wowed judges with his determination while making "hard Tom Brown."

This season promises drama, talent, and culinary surprises galore! With diverse skills among contestants, Big Chef Season 4 is shaping up to be thrilling.
