He made this announcement on May 1, 2025. The launch took place at the Freedom and Justice Monument in Accra.
Rex stated that the Blackstar Experience Secretariat is facilitating a major investment. This will be a multi-million-dollar film studio called Ananse Studios. It will meet Hollywood standards and include an education facility.
He also shared upcoming events related to the Blackstar Experience. These include exhibition football matches featuring legends from international clubs and Ghana's national team. Ghana Music Week, Creative Connect meetings, and Detty December celebrations are other events.
Rex mentioned collaborations with international organizations, including one in Atlanta. This group celebrates Blackstar Week every year.
"This is an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian talents," he said. He emphasized the importance of participating in investments and expos.
The Blackstar Experience will focus on seven pillars: cinema, audio, cuisine, aesthetics, style, literature, and heritage. Rex explained that their goal is to align Ghana's brand with the world's top 20 countries.
"We aim to rebrand Ghana for global tourism," he added. The Secretariat plans to integrate the Blackstar Experience into various national initiatives.
This effort aims to elevate Ghana's image as a preferred destination for travelers. Ultimately, they want to transform Ghana into Africa's cultural capital.
