New details have emerged in the legal case involving Ghanaian actor Koo Fori. What started as a simple business conversation has turned into a serious fraud case. The amount involved exceeds $50,000.
Koo Fori is known for his role in the series Efiewura. However, he now faces serious allegations that are not humorous.
The situation began in 2021 when Koo Fori befriended a U.S.-based woman named Emily. Their friendship grew, and Koo Fori stayed at her home during visits to the U.S.
He presented himself as a trusted friend with connections in Ghana’s property market. This led Emily to consider investing in land back home.
Koo Fori proposed a real estate project in Spintex, Accra. He assured Emily he could help her acquire land at a good price. After speaking with a landowner, he convinced her to transfer $3,000 to start the process.
However, things changed after she made the payment. When Emily asked for land documents, Koo Fori stalled. He eventually claimed that the landowner had died suddenly.
Instead of refunding her money or providing clarity, he suggested another investment opportunity. He encouraged her to invest more money in another parcel of land.
Trusting him, Emily wired an additional $2,000 but received no documents. Instead, she faced excuses and changing stories from Koo Fori.
As months passed into years, Emily's frustration grew. She tried multiple times to get her money back and even sought mediation from third parties in Ghana.
Despite these efforts, Koo Fori allegedly failed to deliver any land or documentation. The total amount involved is now believed to exceed $50,000 due to further investments based on his assurances.
An insider described this ordeal as a calculated scheme by Koo Fori. Each stage involved manipulation and delays that gave Emily false hope.
In 2023, realizing she had been deceived, Emily decided to take legal action. She filed a formal complaint that led to police involvement and ultimately resulted in Koo Fori’s arrest.
