Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament of Abetifi constituency

Dr. Bryan Acheampong was born on November 27, 1972, in Suhum. He has ancestral roots in Nkwatia, Kwahu East District. His life story reflects resilience, intellect, and service to Ghana.

Dr. Acheampong's character was shaped at Achimota Primary School and Presbyterian Boys Secondary School. There, he excelled academically while embracing Presbyterian values of discipline and community service. As a young national service personnel, he volunteered at the Tom-ni orphanage in Kwahu Oborni. This early experience highlighted his humanitarian spirit.

He began his studies in Business Administration at Johnson and Wales University in the United States. Later, he earned a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Ghana. He also pursued advanced qualifications in security and intelligence at prestigious institutions like Georgetown University and the University of Buckingham.

Dr. Acheampong has nearly two decades of political experience. He is a four-term Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency. He is known for his focus on developmental politics.

His ministerial roles include Minister for Food and Agriculture, where he improved farming practices. As Minister of Interior, he enhanced national security architecture. In his role as Minister of State for National Security, his intelligence expertise was crucial.

He serves on parliamentary committees like Foreign Affairs and Defence. This work shows his ability to balance national interests with citizens' welfare.

Outside politics, Dr. Acheampong is an entrepreneur with diverse business interests. His ventures include agribusiness, real estate, hospitality, and media. These businesses aim to create jobs and stimulate Ghana's economy.

The Bryan Acheampong Foundation exemplifies his commitment to social change. The foundation invests over GHS 3 million annually to support thousands.

In education, it has provided scholarships to over 200 students. Beneficiaries like Kofi Mensah have shared how these scholarships changed their lives.

The foundation also focuses on health interventions by registering 20,000 beneficiaries under NHIS. It supports 10,000 pregnant women with delivery packages and provides nutritional aid for 25,000 infants.

Additionally, it has drilled 100 boreholes across 16 communities for clean water access.

Livelihood programs include establishing a gari processing center in Nteso and creating thrift shops benefiting 2,000 individuals. The foundation distributed GH¢500,000 worth of farm inputs to 6,000 farmers.

Dr. Acheampong’s personal touch includes awarding a new Suzuki Swift to the best midwife in his constituency. He also donated GH¢300,000 to rebuild the Adum-Blue Light market after a fire disaster.
