Bukom Banku Meets IGP Yohuno, Shares Laughter as Local IGP

Bukom Banku recently met Ghana's new Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno. The meeting took place during the Easter holiday in Kwahu. The boxer is known for his funny TikTok videos that have made him a viral sensation.

A video of their interaction has surfaced online. In it, Bukom Banku humorously introduced himself as the "local IGP." He referenced his TikTok skits where he claims this title.

Bukom Banku, whose real name is Braimah Kamoko, retired from boxing in 2023. He had an impressive record of 29 wins out of 30 bouts, including 21 technical knockouts. Despite retiring, he remains popular on social media with over 250k followers on TikTok.

His content often showcases his lifestyle in Bukom and his support for the New Democratic Congress and its leader, John Dramani Mahama. Fans frequently enjoy his humorous encounters with celebrities and notable figures.

The new IGP was appointed by President Mahama on March 13, 2025. He succeeded Dr. George Akuffo Dampare. After Yohuno's appointment, Bukom Banku jokingly questioned why he wasn't chosen for the role.

During their meeting, IGP Yohuno was watching paragliding when Bukom approached him. Their exchange delighted many netizens when it was shared on social media over Easter weekend.

Earlier reports noted that IGP Yohuno held a meeting with former IGPs shortly after taking office. Notable attendees included Mr. CK Dewornu and Mr. Ernest Owusu Poku among others at the National Police Headquarters in Accra on April 2.

However, Dr. Dampare's absence from this meeting raised eyebrows among fans and observers alike.
