Singer Cassie Ventura recently gave birth to her third child. She and her husband, Alex Fine, welcomed a son. They also have two daughters named Frankie and Sunny.
Ventura testified as a key witness in the trial of her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs. Celebrity stylist Deonte Nash congratulated Ventura after she had her baby. He spoke with her on Tuesday following the birth.
In February, Ventura and Fine announced they were expecting another child. Earlier this month, Ventura provided nearly 20 hours of graphic testimony during Combs’ trial. She described violence she experienced and drug-fueled sexual encounters known as “Freak Offs.”
Ventura was the third witness called in the case. Both defense and prosecution considered her an important witness. Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
If convicted on serious counts, he could face life in prison. Ventura is identified as “Victim 1” in the federal indictment against Combs. Their long-term relationship is central to the ongoing criminal case.
In November 2023, Ventura filed a civil lawsuit detailing years of abuse allegations against Combs. They settled for $20 million one day after it was filed, according to her trial testimony.
On the stand, Ventura revealed she received treatment for mental health issues after their relationship ended. Combs faces multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault but denies all allegations.
On the first day of his trial, jurors saw graphic video of him assaulting Ventura in a hotel in 2016. The defense tried unsuccessfully to prevent this video from being shown during the trial.
Before Ventura’s testimony began, Combs’ attorney requested she be seated before the jury entered the courtroom due to her physical condition. Judge Arun Subramanian denied this request.
Outside court on May 13, Ventura’s attorney stated that jurors should judge her based on testimony rather than appearance. After testifying, Ventura released a statement expressing hope that her words would empower other survivors to speak up and heal from their experiences.
