Chief One explains why he's not chasing awards

Ghanaian musician Chief One has addressed rumors about his loss at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominees jam. He shared his thoughts on future ambitions during an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.

Chief One stated he was not disappointed about losing the 2023 Best New Artiste award to Lasmid. He acknowledged that Lasmid worked hard and deserved the win. "No problem," he said, dismissing any claims of anger.

He mentioned a minor complaint about the TGMA for 2024, related to Toyota. However, he did not elaborate further on this issue.

Chief One also explained why he did not file for a nomination in the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards. "I didn't file," he said, adding that he wants to avoid making fans lose money.

He believes he needs to work harder before seeking nominations again. "If it is loud, nobody can say anything," he noted. Chief One aims for success in major categories like Artiste of the Year or Afrobeats.

“I deserve to be there,” he asserted, emphasizing his commitment to hard work. His interview provided insight into his past experiences and future goals.
