US singer Chris Brown has been released on bail in London. He faces charges for an "unprovoked attack" at a nightclub in 2023.
The Grammy-winning artist has not yet entered a plea. His bail conditions allow him to start his world tour next month.
Brown was arrested last week and charged with grievous bodily harm. He allegedly attacked a music producer with a tequila bottle at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair.
The 36-year-old did not attend the bail hearing at Southwark Crown Court. The judge ordered him to pay a £5 million security fee.
This fee ensures he returns to court. If he breaches bail conditions, he may lose this money.
Brown had been in custody since his arrest in Salford last Thursday. Initially, he was denied bail on Friday but was granted it on Wednesday.
He must pay £4 million immediately and £1 million within seven days. His tour starts in Amsterdam on June 8, followed by shows in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
Chris Brown is known for hits like "Loyal," "Run It," and "Under the Influence." His next court date is June 20, between performances at Cardiff's Principality Stadium and London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Judge Tony Baumgartner stated that Brown must surrender his passport unless traveling for the tour. Other conditions include living at a specific address and not contacting the alleged victim or visiting the Tape nightclub.
He will appear in court next month with co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, also known as HoodyBaby.
