Pastor Josh Laryea has challenged the overemphasis on music in church growth, calling it a misconception.
Speaking on No.1 FM's Journey to Heaven, he criticized the belief that churches need elaborate music setups and professional musicians to thrive.
To test this, he led his church without music for over seven months and observed no negative impact.
Laryea argued that Gospel musicians often bring temporary followers and sometimes disruptions, debunking the idea that their presence ensures growth.
He lamented that music dominates up to 65% of Charismatic church services, fostering arrogance among musicians who wrongly believe they sustain the church.
The Kharis Centre leader stressed that spiritual growth should not hinge on music but on deeper principles.
