Lil Win Receives Final Warning in Martha Ankomah's Defamation Case
Lil Win was supposed to appear in the Accra High Court on April 1. He needed to sign settlement terms in a ₵5 million defamation case filed by Martha Ankomah.
Reports from GHOneTV say the court has warned him for delaying the process. This warning gained attention on social media on April 15, which is also Lil Win's 38th birthday.
The dispute began over a video Lil Win published over a year ago. In it, he made derogatory remarks about Ankomah. Although he apologized shortly after, she rejected it and sought legal action.
Martha Ankomah filed her defamation case against Lil Win on February 14, 2024. She is seeking ₵5 million in damages and other reliefs.
The High Court has engaged both parties and their lawyers to find a resolution. Proceedings were adjourned until February 25, 2025, allowing time for settlement discussions.
After that sitting, the judge instructed Lil Win to return on April 1 with an approved apology. However, there have been no updates since then until the recent reports of his final warning.
Martha Ankomah remains determined to see this case through. She stated she wants justice rather than money from Lil Win.
"I want him to do the right thing," she said in an interview with Nhyira FM. "People need to know they can't act without consequences."
Reactions from Ghanaians regarding Lil Win's situation have varied widely online. Some comments expressed disbelief at the amount being sought while others questioned potential jail time if he fails to pay.
Earlier reports noted that Lil Win celebrated his birthday by enjoying banku and soup alone. He mentioned feelings of loneliness as his wife is currently abroad.
He also encouraged fans to support his new song with Patapaa titled "Who is Handsome."
