Dancehall isn’t the problem of Ghana’s music industry – Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy has dismissed claims that dancehall is a problem for Ghana's music industry, emphasizing its economic contributions.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on HitzFM, he noted that dancehall festivals generate income for hotels, airlines, and create numerous jobs.

He argued that the genre supports many livelihoods and is not the cause of industry challenges.

Stonebwoy rejected the idea of defining Ghanaian music by a single genre, calling it unrealistic.

He pointed out that countries like the U.S. succeed in entertainment by embracing diverse genres.

He encouraged Ghanaian artistes to explore various styles, such as afrobeat, dancehall, and hip hop, to reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage.
