Dzifa Gomashie’s father dies at 106

Hon. Dzifa Abla Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has lost her father. Mr. Gomashie passed away at the age of 106.

She shared this sad news on Facebook. In her post, she included a black-and-white photo of her father. She also shared verses from a hymn about faith through sorrow.

To honor his memory, she changed her Facebook profile picture. The new picture is from her father's 106th birthday celebration in March.

Dzifa Gomashie is well-respected for her work as a cultural advocate and politician. Before joining Parliament, she was active in Ghana’s creative sector.

She had significant roles in theatre and television. She also served as Deputy Minister of Tourism under the Mahama administration. Her commitment to cultural preservation and the arts defines her public life.
