EC reschedules nomination for Nkoranza North and South District Level Elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced new nomination dates. This is for the Nkoranza North and South District Level Elections. It also includes by-elections for other vacant areas.

Nominations were originally set for April 1 to April 4, 2025. They are now rescheduled to Monday, April 7, through Thursday, April 10, 2025.

The change follows President John Dramani Mahama's declaration of a public holiday on April 1, 2025. The time and venues for submitting nominations will remain the same. The EC urges the public and candidates to note these new dates.

Elections are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This aligns with the District Level Elections Regulations of 2015 (C.I. 89).

The elections will elect new Assembly and Unit Committee Members. These elections follow the expiration of current members' terms. By-elections will also occur on this day to fill vacancies from resignations or deaths.

Candidates must deliver completed Nomination Forms in quadruplicate. They can submit these personally or through a Proposer or Seconder. Two copies of a recent bust-sized photograph against a RED background are also required.

Forms should be submitted to the Returning Officer of the electoral area from April 1 to April 4, between 9 am and noon and then from 2 pm to 5 pm each day.
