Richard Anamoo, a former Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), believes missing containers can be traced. These containers belong to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). He noted that relevant institutions have records of their locations.
His comments come amid concerns about the disappearance of ECG’s containers. This has led to calls for an investigation into their status.
In an interview on JoyNews' The Pulse, Anamoo expressed confidence in tracking the missing containers. He stated that GPHA keeps detailed records of all container movements. This includes transfers to other terminals or storage facilities.
Anamoo explained that if the containers were moved, GPHA would have documentation. The shipping line also tracks container movements. Records exist whether goods were offloaded at the port or moved elsewhere.
He emphasized that as long as the containers stayed within GPHA's jurisdiction, there would be data available.
