Edem explains how 2023 motor accident made him lose gigs

Ghanaian musician Edem recently shared details about a tough time in his life. This included a serious motor accident that occurred in 2023.

In an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Edem explained the financial impact of the accident. Many promoters canceled his shows due to uncertainty surrounding the incident.

"This event happened on December 10, 2023. Every promoter canceled our show," Edem said. He added that they received calls saying, "Oh, bro, we won't push the date." Promoters were unsure about what was happening.

Edem mentioned that this situation kept him out of the public eye for a while. "From December 10, 2023, we were in court until February this year," he explained. The case was related to the accident and took over a year to resolve.

He praised his team for managing everything well during this difficult time. "My team did a really good job managing the situation," he said. They ensured all necessary evidence was gathered and reported diligently in court over two years.

"The high office cleared us with all the evidence they gathered," he added gratefully.

Edem reflected on the emotional and financial burden of the accident. "Sometimes you go through so much and people don’t know," he noted. He had to cover funeral expenses after someone lost their life in the incident.

On December 10, 2023, Edem reportedly struck a middle-aged woman on George Walker Bush Highway around 2 a.m., after returning from an event at UTV.
