Empress Gifty sues Nana Agradaa for GHC20 million over defamation

Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye has filed a defamation lawsuit. She is seeking GHC20 million from controversial evangelist Patricia Asiedua, known as Nana Agradaa.

The lawsuit was filed at the Tema High Court on May 20, 2025. It accuses Agradaa of making slanderous statements against Empress Gifty in online broadcasts.

Court documents shared by Hopeson Adorye, Empress Gifty's husband, detail the claims. The gospel star seeks damages for reputational harm caused by Agradaa's comments on social media.

The lawsuit was filed through Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co law firm. It includes four statements of claim and requests an injunction against further defamatory remarks.

Empress Gifty also asks the court to order the removal of all defamatory content from Agradaa’s platforms. She wants to restrain Agradaa from making future defamatory statements and award legal costs to her.

This legal action follows months of online attacks and personal allegations by Nana Agradaa. Empress Gifty believes these have severely damaged her image and reputation.

The case is likely to attract significant public attention due to its high-profile nature. It reflects the growing trend of feuds between celebrities and social media influencers.
