Endurance Grand calls out the TGMAs for not recognising dancers in Ghana

Ghana's top TikTok personality, Endurance Grand, is raising concerns. She highlights the marginalization of dancers in the entertainment sector.

In a recent interview on the Talk No Dey Cook Rice podcast, she spoke with Derick Elorm Ashilevi. Endurance emphasized how dancers amplify artists' music through viral challenges and performances. However, they are often overlooked in major awards like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

She pointed out that dancers do not receive royalties. Yet, they advocate for proper recognition and inclusion in award categories. This is crucial for the stability of the industry.

Endurance stated, "Dancers who create choreographies deserve more than just a tag." She believes recognition is essential because dance provides income for many.

"It has put food on my table and my colleagues’ tables," she explained. "If we do this out of love, we deserve to be seen."

Elorm agreed that if it takes signing a petition, they should do it. He noted that music artists earn royalties when their songs are played. In contrast, dancers earn nothing when their moves are copied.

Endurance continues to create impressive routines despite being overlooked. She discussed competition in the industry and why her routines go viral.

In a heartfelt moment, she shared her ongoing grief over her father's loss and some personal regrets.
