Fear keeps us apart – Mr Drew on why his industry mates are ‘just work-friends’ to him

Ghanaian artist Mr Drew revealed he considers his peers in the entertainment industry as "work-friends" rather than true friends.

Speaking on Class 91.3 FM’s Class Xtra, he explained that keeping relationships professional helps avoid unnecessary issues.

He noted that competition often creates tension, as some artists feel threatened by others’ talent or success.

Additionally, seniority dynamics can lead to distance, with established artists maintaining a gap to assert their earlier achievements.

While acknowledging the downsides of such limited connections, Mr Drew emphasized that these dynamics are common, making genuine friendships rare in the industry.
