George Clooney is optimistic America has better days ahead

George Clooney is optimistic about the future of the United States.

He recently spoke with Broadway legend Patti Lupone for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series. They discussed various topics, including President Donald Trump.

Lupone asked Clooney what he thinks about Trump. Clooney responded, “It is funny because he is just a New York beast.” He added that they have known him for 30 years as a man chasing women. “It’s fine. We’re going to get through it,” he said.

Lupone admitted she has a more pessimistic view. Clooney reassured her, saying, “I feel like we’ll all be fine.” He believes people eventually find their better angels. “We have every other time and I think we will again,” he stated.

“I’m an optimist about all of that,” Clooney concluded. Lupone replied, “I’m so glad you are. That gives me hope.”

Clooney is currently starring in the Broadway production of “Good Night and Good Luck.” He also expressed confidence that Democrats will regain control of the House in the midterm elections.

As a longtime Democrat, Clooney hopes for new leadership in the party. He said, “We need representatives who have a sense of humor and purpose.” He mentioned Maryland Governor Wes Moore as someone who could be a strong force in the next election.
