Ghana's creative industry, valued at 68 billion dollars, holds significant influence within the economy. It encompasses various sectors, including music, film, fashion, and art, contributing to cultural identity and job creation. However, despite its potential for revenue generation and global impact, many creatives struggle to monetize their work effectively. Issues such as inadequate funding, lack of infrastructure, and insufficient market access hinder sustainable growth. Additionally, intellectual property rights remain a concern; many artists face challenges protecting their creations from unauthorized use. While the government recognizes the sector's importance and has initiated policies to support it, there is still a long way to go in ensuring that creatives can fully capitalize on their talents. For the industry to thrive economically and artistically, stakeholders must focus on enhancing support systems and fostering an environment where creativity can flourish into profitable ventures. Addressing these challenges could unlock a wealth of opportunities for Ghanaian creatives.
