Ghanaian actor and radio personality Mikki Osei Berko, known as Master Richard, has expressed concerns about the decline of Ghanaian football.
Reflecting on the nation’s failure to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and a decades-long trophy drought, he lamented the loss of football’s unifying and cultural significance.
A former footballer himself, whose career was cut short by injury, Master Richard emphasized the need to overhaul the country’s football system, from grassroots development to management.
Highlighting the success of contemporaries like Ibrahim Tanko, he called for renewed investment in youth, local leagues, and homegrown talent.
He urged Ghana to return to the fundamentals to revive the sport and reclaim its lost glory.
