Gwyneth Paltrow has changed her eating habits. She is now enjoying foods she once restricted. This includes sourdough bread, pasta, and cheese. Previously, she followed a strict paleo diet for several years.
The Oscar-winning actress promotes various diets through her lifestyle business. On her recent Goop podcast, she shared her experiences with food. She mentioned trying a hardcore macrobiotic diet for a time.
Paltrow's interest in wellness began due to her father's throat cancer. Now, she has expanded her food choices beyond strict diets.
She explained that the paleo diet is based on ancient eating habits. The idea is that this can improve health and reduce disease risk.
During her macrobiotic phase, Paltrow focused on local and seasonal foods. This included fish, vegetables, rice, and no dairy or sugar.
She admitted to becoming overly passionate about healthy eating during that time. She wanted to share these benefits with her family and friends.
Paltrow still believes in the importance of hydration and whole foods. However, as she's aged, health issues have made things more complicated for her.
She noted that both she and husband Brad Falchuk adopted the paleo diet years ago. Recently, she feels tired of it and wants to change.
"I'm getting back into eating sourdough bread," she said. "I’m also having some cheese and a little pasta."
Paltrow believes in eating whole and fresh foods as a good starting point for nutrition.
Priya Tew is a specialist dietitian from Dietitian UK. She praised Paltrow for adding more variety back into her diet.
Tew stated that carbohydrates are essential for our health. They provide fiber, B vitamins, energy, and enjoyment in meals.
She noted that Gwyneth seems to be moving toward a balanced diet. Given Paltrow's influence, this shift could benefit many people.
Tew emphasized the importance of dietary diversity for overall health. Cutting out entire food groups can lead to nutritional deficiencies.
Paltrow has stepped away from Hollywood recently to focus on wellness. However, she will return to acting alongside Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme.
She won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1999 for Shakespeare In Love. Paltrow also starred in Sliding Doors and several Marvel movies.
