Gyakie speaks about how she manages her mental health

Ghanaian musician Gyakie recently discussed her mental health journey in music.

She believes life is a marathon. People are constantly trying to find meaning and make a living.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio, she advised new artists. They should allow themselves to feel hurt during tough times.

"I see this entire journey as a race," she said on Hitz FM. "When you face something painful, you can fall or keep going."

Gyakie encouraged viewing obstacles as small setbacks that can be overcome.

"When these things happen, I see them as challenges meant to push you forward," she explained. "If you're religious, you might view them differently."

She emphasized the importance of keeping struggles private rather than public.

"I'm human," she said. "When I'm hurt, I let myself feel bad and take breaks."

Gyakie prefers to share her feelings only with trusted people. She avoids involving the public in personal matters.

The musician also highlighted self-motivation for overcoming challenges.

"Talk to yourself in a mirror," she suggested. "It helps you bounce back stronger."
