Hajia4Real expected to be released from prison today – Reports

Ghanaian socialite Mona Montrage will be released from prison today, May 22, 2025.

She served a one-year sentence for her role in a romance scam. This scam defrauded individuals and businesses across the U.S. from 2013 to 2019.

Mona was sentenced on June 28, 2024, to one year and one day. She was held at the Federal Detention Centre in Philadelphia. She turned herself in voluntarily on July 29, 2024.

As part of her sentence, she must forfeit $216,475. Additionally, she is required to pay $1,387,458 in restitution to victims.

Local media reports say she will return to Ghana seven days after her release. She agreed to self-deport upon completing her sentence.
