Hajia4Reall to ‘cough up’ over $1m to victims of the romance scam

Ghanaian socialite and musician, Hajia4Reall, has been released. She left the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia on May 22, 2025.

Hajia4Reall must pay $1,387,458 to victims of a romance scam. This amount comes from funds received from about 40 victims between 2013 and 2019.

In February 2024, she agreed to a higher compensation of $2,164,758.41. However, her final sentencing in June 2024 adjusted it to $1,387,458.

She will also serve three years of supervised release. Additionally, she must forfeit $216,475 gained from the scam.

Hajia4Reall completed her jail sentence of one year and one day. She was imprisoned for her role in the romance scam.

Her defense team proposed that she return to Ghana after her release. She pleaded guilty to defrauding individuals and businesses in the U.S. between 2013 and 2019.

Hajia4Reall served a 12-month sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia. Her legal team submitted a request on November 1, 2024, for self-deportation proceedings.

Prosecutors did not oppose this application according to court records. U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken approved the request and ordered her passport returned.

This ruling allows Hajia4Reall to return to Ghana after completing her sentence. She was arrested in the UK on November 11, 2022, during the Ghana Music Awards UK event.

She was extradited to the U.S. in May 2023 following her arrest.
