I'd rather make more babies - Yvonne Nelson on body enhancement trend

Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Nelson recently shared her views on body enhancement. She spoke during an interview on The Career Trail program on Joy Learning and JoyNews.

Yvonne stated she has never had body enhancements or considered them. As she approaches 40, she has no plans to change that. She is satisfied with her natural appearance.

She discussed the societal pressure women face to alter their bodies for men. Yvonne believes this pressure is misplaced and harmful. Women should not feel compelled to meet anyone's expectations, as it can lead to disappointment.

As a mother, Yvonne wants to set a good example for her child. She worries about the questions her daughter might ask as she grows up.

Reflecting on potential questions, Yvonne said, “One day you will become a mother. Your kids will see you in old pictures and ask about changes.” She added, “I am not ready for such questions.” Yvonne feels content with how she looks.

For her, body enhancement offers no real benefits. “I don’t think enhancing my body will help me,” she explained. Instead of surgery, she'd prefer to have more children.

“If I were to do anything to my body, I would rather have babies,” she declared. “If I want to be in the hospital, it’s for having babies.”

Yvonne also discussed the psychological effects of changing one's appearance. She believes many seek enhancements due to low confidence levels. “It is a mental thing,” she stated.

In closing, Yvonne advised young girls against starting down the path of body enhancements. “Once you alter one part of your body, you’ll want more changes,” she cautioned.
