Ghanaian rapper Medikal is unhappy about being compared to other rappers.
On April 15, 2025, he posted on X. He warned social media users against these comparisons.
“Make una never compare me to any rapper for Ghana, Africa and beyond, nobody be my mate!” he wrote in pidgin.
He believes such comparisons undermine his work and achievements. He even stated that not even Kwesi Arthur should be compared with him.
His post received mixed reactions from users on X. Some supported him while others criticized him.
Here are some comments:
@enocksmith84 – "TBH, we don’t count you among Ghana rappers."
@BenopaOnyx1 – "But don’t forget Titti and MJ still hold the mic."
@Briscohood – "Only Kwesi Arthur can match you; don’t go there with Kweku Smoke."
@Kelvin_Janviah – "You’re disrespecting others; I hope you know that."
@kwaku__Bassaw – "You have potential but need better branding."
Medikal also reacted strongly to a recent incident involving Media General’s TV3 network. They insulted celebrated rapper Sarkodie during a podcast mini-series on YouTube called Choices.
A young man claimed no Ghanaian musician could win a Grammy Award. When asked about Sarkodie’s chances, he laughed and said, “King Sark, I think his career has ended.”
Medikal did not take this lightly. He responded on X, calling out the station and its staff.
“Dumbass station, stupid ass admin! Make una no play my music again,” he wrote.
His message was clear: he wants respect for himself and his peers in the industry.
