**Jide Kosoko's Financial Struggles Despite Fame**
Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has shared his financial struggles. He revealed that fame has not brought him wealth.
In an interview on *The Honest Bunch* podcast, the 71-year-old actor spoke candidly. He does not consider himself rich by Nigerian standards. However, he is content with his financial situation.
Kosoko expressed gratitude for being able to afford three meals a day. “But can I claim to be a rich man by Nigerian standards? No,” he stated.
He also discussed the severe effects of piracy on the film industry. Kosoko called for stronger laws to combat this issue.
“The punishment in copyright law for piracy is still not strong enough,” he said. He pointed out that pirates often profit significantly from their actions.
“Somebody who has been pirating people’s works for years is a billionaire,” he noted. A fine of N500 million would be insignificant to them.
Kosoko suggested attaching a 20-year jail sentence without an option for bail. This, he believes, would deter people from piracy.
Jide Kosoko began his Nollywood career as a child actor in 1964. He started with the television series *Makanjuola*. Today, he remains a respected figure advocating for better regulations in the industry.
