I’d rather make more babies – Yvonne Nelson on body enhancement trend

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson recently shared her views on body enhancement. She spoke during an interview on *The Career Trail* program on Joy Learning and JoyNews.

Yvonne stated she has never had body enhancements. She also mentioned she has no plans to consider it, especially as she approaches 40. She is satisfied with her natural appearance.

She addressed the societal pressure women face to change their bodies. Yvonne believes this pressure is misplaced and harmful. Women should not alter their bodies for anyone else's expectations, as it can lead to disappointment.

As a mother, Yvonne wants to set a good example for her child. She worries about the questions her daughter might ask in the future. Reflecting on this, she said, “One day you will become a mother... What happened to it? Did you blow it? Is it a balloon?”

Yvonne expressed that she is not ready for such questions. She feels content with how she looks and does not want to explain changes in her body.

For Yvonne, body enhancement offers no real benefits. “I don’t think enhancing any part of my body is going to help me,” she said.

Instead of surgery, Yvonne would prefer having more children. “If I want to find myself in the hospital, it’s because I want babies,” she declared.

She also discussed the psychological effects of altering one’s appearance. Many people seek enhancements due to low confidence levels. “I feel that it is a mental thing,” she stated.

In closing, Yvonne advised young girls against starting down the path of body enhancements. “The minute you alter any part of your body, you would want more,” she cautioned.
