I didn’t expect to face fertility challenges - Ini Edo

Nollywood actress Ini Edo has revealed her journey through infertility, sharing how she embraced surrogacy after years of unsuccessful attempts at carrying pregnancies.

Speaking on “Young, Famous & African”, the 42-year-old reflected on her struggles, explaining that she got married at 26, hoping to complete childbearing by 31.

However, persistent fertility challenges altered her plans.

“I never thought I’d face fertility issues,” Edo admitted, adding that her struggles with carrying pregnancies long-term led her to consider surrogacy in 2023.

Although hesitant to share her story initially, she expressed gratitude for achieving motherhood through surrogacy.

Edo was married to Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage ended in 2014. Her candid revelation has sparked conversations on fertility and the courage to explore alternative paths to motherhood.
