I had nothing, but I chose Jesus over fame – Yaw Siki

Former hiplife musician Yaw Siki has shared his journey to faith. He is now a gospel minister.

In an interview on the GTV Breakfast Show, he opened up about his past. He felt emotionally empty despite his fame. This emptiness led him to a life of faith.

He recalled how he transformed after finding Christ. “Some people wanted me for songs and shows,” he said. “But I had to deny myself those opportunities.”

Yaw Siki gained fame with his hit song ‘Wop3 Dodo’. On the outside, everything seemed perfect — shows, fame, and dreams. However, inside, he felt lost.

“It was fun at first,” he explained. “But two years after ‘Wop3 Dodo’, I felt empty.” He experienced joylessness in his room during that time.

During this low point, he heard a gentle voice guiding him. It inspired him to serve God instead.

Since making this change, Yaw Siki has not looked back. When asked if he misses his old lifestyle, he replied firmly: “Not at all.”
