“I lost all my savings”: Mr Macaroni shares financial struggles, discloses ₦500m debt

Popular Nigerian activist and actor, Mr Macaroni, has shared a deeply personal story about financial struggles, debt, and betrayal, hoping to caution others against similar experiences.

In a post on X, the comedian revealed that he lost all his life savings to a scam and bad investment, leading to severe financial difficulties.

“Please don’t borrow money! But if you must, please be responsible,” he warned, urging his followers to be cautious with their finances.

Despite professional success in 2024—when two films he starred in were featured at international film festivals—he admitted to facing overwhelming debt, which had surpassed half a billion naira.

However, Mr Macaroni emphasized his resilience, crediting the support of family and friends for helping him navigate the crisis. He encouraged others facing similar challenges to stay strong, learn from their mistakes, and take responsibility for their actions.

“It’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them. What is not okay is to keep repeating the same mistakes,” he concluded.
