Showbiz promoter Sam Larry has addressed the controversy surrounding Mohbad's death. He spoke at the coroner’s inquest and denied any wrongdoing.
Larry insisted he never harmed Mohbad. Their relationship was purely business, he said. “I never harassed or beat Mohbad,” he stated.
He explained that tensions arose after he paid Mohbad ₦2 million for a birthday party performance in Dubai. Larry claimed the party cost him over ₦20 million to organize.
Mohbad allegedly canceled last minute, leading to conflict. Larry messaged him on Instagram for a refund but received no response. He even involved his lawyer, but there was still no reply.
Larry also discussed the incident at Elegushi Beach. He said he only confronted Mohbad verbally, and it ended peacefully with Zlatan's help. “Afterwards, we all sat down to eat,” he noted.
He confirmed that Mohbad filed a petition against him. The singer accused Larry of bringing thugs and weapons to the beach. However, Larry pointed out that Mohbad never attended any police invitations to support his claims.
Regarding a viral clip where he said “Won ti gbe sin” (They’ve buried him), Larry clarified it was from 2013 and unrelated to Mohbad. He believes it was misinterpreted.
In closing, Larry urged the court to focus on those around Mohbad before his death. “They know what really happened to him,” he concluded solemnly.
