Kumasi-based rapper-turned-singer Amerado claims credit for inspiring colleagues Fameye and King Paluta to transition from rap to Highlife music.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Amerado declared himself the first rapper to successfully embrace singing while maintaining relevance.
“I'm incredibly humbled to see artists like King Paluta and Fameye now embracing Highlife music," he stated confidently.
Amerado’s remarks have sparked conversations within the music industry, with some seeing it as a challenge to other rappers. He specifically advised Lyrical Joe, saying, “If rap isn’t helping you blow, take a cue from me and others and start singing.”
Amerado continues to pride himself on his versatility, which has kept him relevant in the ever-evolving Ghanaian music scene.
