I quit music for my mental health – Kojo-Cue

Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue has shared that he quit music to protect his mental health.

He faced overwhelming personal issues, which led him to take a break. In an interview with Zionfelix on April 16, 2025, he explained his struggles.

Kojo Cue said he stopped making music at the end of 2021. For almost two years, he did not create any new songs. He even gave away his studio equipment.

His personal life became challenging after events in 2020. He felt unable to focus on music during this time. Mental health was the main reason for his decision to step back.

To cope, Kojo Cue deleted all social media apps for six to seven months. He wanted to interact with people outside of social media's narrative.

Despite not making music, he worked with friends on a music marketing company they started in 2020. Their goal was to help Ghanaian artists grow their presence in the industry.

They assisted musicians with streaming, marketing, and public relations. The first three artists they helped received their services for free.

Kojo Cue left the music scene while thriving alongside artists like E.L and Joey B. After a long hiatus, he is back with a new song titled "Abebrese," featuring Fameye.
