Renowned entrepreneur Richard Nii Armah Quaye has shared his inspiring journey from a challenging childhood to becoming the chairman of Bills.
Growing up in a single room with his mother and sister, Quaye recalled sleeping on a mat while his mother occupied the bed. Financial struggles meant they often lived without electricity, but his mother always found a way to provide food.
Her encouragement became his motivation. “She told me, ‘I’m counting on you,’ and that pushed me to succeed,” he said.
To fund his education, he sold local gin in Jamestown while attending IPS (now UPSA). His hard work eventually led him to the UK for further studies. Today, he credits his mother’s sacrifices for his achievements.
