Veteran Nollywood actor Chinedu Okeke has opened up about why he left the film industry.
According to Okeke, he grew tired of being typecast in roles as an armed robber and criminal.
In a recent interview, Okeke shared that while he initially enjoyed playing the bad boy and hitman characters, he began to feel stigmatized by the public. Fans started associating him with his roles, calling him a "thief" even when they saw him off-camera.
Despite living a responsible life and being educated, Okeke struggled to convince directors to cast him in different roles.
Frustrated by the limited opportunities, he made the decision to leave the industry, expressing that he felt he could do better in other areas.
